Akili Network was created to bring learning and inspiration to children in Kenya, by providing the broadest free access to the most positive, relevant programming available.

Akili Network promotes content that models positive academic outcomes, values social-emotional awareness, introduces and supports gender equality, and advances health, wellness, job awareness, community, and creative arts.

“The Age of Learning Foundation has been a wonderful partner for us. We air ABCmouse® content everyday on Akili Kids! TV in Kenya, across our reading, math, and science programming blocks. We have high praise from millions of kids and caregivers; they love the entertainment and learn while they are having fun,” said Jeff Schon, Chief Executive Officer, Akili Network.

Akili Network is revolutionizing the Kenyan TV landscape with its free-to-air children’s television channel, Akili Kids!. As the #2 TV channel in Kenya in households, Akili Kids! is the first local free-to-air channel that offers creative and educative content for children and families. With a focus on 24/7 children’s and family educational programming, Akili Kids! offers local content that speaks to the African child in English, Kiswahili, and Kenyan Sign Language (KSL).

During the pandemic, Akili Kids! served as a safe, fun, and educational destination for households that desired expert-approved, family-friendly content to watch. Akili Network partnered with the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) to develop and distribute educational content aligned with the national curriculum for primary schools. The network also partnered with Safaricom, the largest mobile network operator in Kenya, to offer free access to its educational content through the Safaricom network.
